Okay, here's another VW ad from 1956. Thus far, these are two oldest I've found in American magazines. This ad appeared in Time, 12/31/56. Unfortunately, it appeared on the back of the magazine so there's quite a bit of wear. Still beautiful though! The artwork is by Hans Looser.
