Salvador Dali Ads Bryans Stockings Part 1

The Bryans Nylons ads by Dali are my favorite ads thus far! I found the the strange elephant one first. It appeared in a 1947 issue of the New Yorker magazine.

At the top of the ad is a quote by Burke. "An appearance of delicacy, and even of fragility, is almost essential to Beauty."

The text at the bottom right reads: "Delicacy that is breathtaking . . . (Bryan's alone) that does such a special Something for your legs! Almost invisible wisps, they've both fit and endurance. In five proportions . . . 15 denier, 54 and 66 gauge!"

To the right at the bottom, it reads: "Illustrated by Dali."

I went around asking friends if they thought it was really him or if there was another Dali doing ad work during the late 40s. No one knew for sure. The best I got was "it looks like his work."

Then I found the second. (Please see part 2 because I haven't quite figured out how to add pictures where I want them to be!).
