Intro - All About Me

Hello! Why am I doing this? Because I've spent the last few days researching vintage magazine illustraters and I've been finding great info on the web, often in blogs.

I sell vintage paper (patterns, greeting cards, magazine ads, covers, brochures, etc). At estate sales, I'm drawn to the basement where people often stashed their magazines, the kitchen where housewives often kept cookbooks put out by Spry, Karo, Jello.

I've picked up all sorts of stuff:

Study materials from a woman who attended the Southern Pacific Railroad correspondence school;
Letters exchanged between a husband and wife during WW2;
Six teen magazines with Shaun Cassidy on the cover;
Dress pattern after dress pattern (though I often pass on these because my fellow estate-sale buddy, Becky, actually sews so I try to give her first dibs on these! We'll be the best of friends until the day we find a file cabinet stuffed with Vogue patterns from the 50s and 60s).

Anyway, my focus right now is figuring out who did the artwork for 100s of magazines ads. And, if I can figure out this blog thing, I'll share what I find!
